Chicken Farmers of Canada Expands Partnerships and Nurtures Next Generation of Agricultural Leaders

Jun 23, 2023

Skate Canada

We are super pleased to announce our partnership with Skate Canada. Chicken Farmers of Canada is the official meat protein of Skate Canada. This partnership will support both Skate Canada’s recreational and competitive programing through the CanSkate program and assistance for high performance athletes. CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program that teaches millions of Canadians to reach their recreational and competitive goals on the ice in communities across Canada. Skate Canada’s high-performance teams compete nationally for Canadian titles and for international medals on the world stage.

Young Farmers

The new Young Farmers from the 2023-2024 cohort had their inaugural visit to Ottawa for the Joint Annual Reception and Annual General Meeting in March. They were able to meet, connect and get to know one another, while also learn more about Chicken Farmers of Canada, meet CFC Staff and Provincial staff, directors, alternates, and meet other industry stakeholders from Egg Farmers of Canada, Turkey Farmers of Canada and Canadian Hatching and Egg Producers at the Joint Annual Reception. The Young Farmers returned to Ottawa once more in April for Orientation. The orientation included a Governance workshop, Social Media workshop, and then the full day of CFC Orientation. The Young Farmers came back to Ottawa once more for Lobby Day in May and took part in meetings with Members of Parliament from their province to advocate for the sector. They were able to attend Question Period in the House of Commons to experience and witness government procedures.
