
OTTAWA – Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) is pleased to announce the members of its 2026 Executive Committee, elected at the organization’s Annual General Meeting held on March 24.
Bringing together experienced leadership from across the country, the newly elected Executive Committee will help guide the sector forward and support continued progress on CFC’s priorities for farmers, partners, and consumers alike.

Chair
Tim Klompmaker, Ontario.
Hailing from Norwood, Ontario, Tim started farming in 1984, along with his wife Annette and their three sons. He is a third-generation chicken farmer with the fourth generation already in place and running chicken farms of their own. Tim served as a District Committee Representative for Chicken Farmers of Ontario (CFO) before being elected to the Ontario Board in 2010. Tim was elected to the Chicken Farmers of Canada Board in 2017 and became Chair in 2022.
1st Vice-Chair
Luce Bélanger, Québec
Luce is a chicken farmer from the Jacques-Cartier area, near Québec City, Québec. She holds a degree in animal science from McGill University (1994) and an MBA in agribusiness (2004) from Laval University. Luce is a Director on the Board of Les Éleveurs de volailles du Quebec and has been Québec’s Director at Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) since 2022. In 2021, Luce became CFC’s representative at Animal Health Canada. She is also Chair of CFC’s Production Committee and a member of the Joint Animal Welfare Working Group.
2nd Vice-Chair
Ray Nickel, British Columbia
Ray is another third-generation farmer and is a graduate from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Agriculture Science. His farms in the Fraser Valley, BC are involved in the production of chicken, commercial table eggs, and turkeys. Ray previously served as the president of the B.C. Poultry Association and was also the BC Turkey Association’s director and president. He has been passionately involved in BC agribusiness for many years and was instrumental as a key point person and spokesperson for the poultry sector during the BC floods and the avian influenza outbreak. Ray is currently Chair of the Canadian Poultry Research Council (CPRC).
Member-at-Large
Tim Ansems, Nova Scotia
Tim Ansems is a second-generation chicken farmer from Nova Scotia who has operated his family farm alongside his wife, Angela, for the past two decades. A father of three who grew up on a chicken, turkey, and tobacco farm in Port Williams, Nova Scotia, he is proud to continue building on the foundation established by the previous generation while helping to position the farm for the future. Tim is a graduate of Dalhousie University in Biological Engineering (Biosystems).
Tim has been actively involved in industry leadership at the provincial level through Chicken Farmers of Nova Scotia, contributing to efforts that support a strong and sustainable sector.
Together, the Executive Committee, supported by the Board of Directors will continue advancing shared priorities that strengthen the Canadian chicken sector and uphold the high standards Canadians expect. CFC remains focused on leading a sustainable industry, fostering trust, and delivering lasting value to Canadians who rely on chicken as a preferred source of protein.
